I was wanting to let you know about some work we are currently doing at Barnsley Council to understand what needs to happen for the borough to become more environmentally friendly and to reach our target of net zero carbon emissions by 2045, across transport, waste, our buildings and energy generation. We are keen for everyone in Barnsley to give us feedback on the research and to let us know what they think.
To help with this, we have asked Centre for Sustainable Energy to run series of online events, the details of which are below:
Sustainable transport engagement event for those with an interest in transport – Tuesday 30 November 3.15pm – 5.30pm – book via Eventbrite
Green groups event for green and environmental groups and networks – Wednesday 1 December 5.30pm – 7pm – book via Eventbrite
Business engagement event – Wednesday 8 December 3.15pm – 5.30pm – book via Eventbrite
General public event – open to all – Thursday 9 December 2pm – 4pm – book via Eventbrite
We are also running an online consultation platform which we are welcoming responses on – the link is here: https://barnsleyzero45.commonplace.is/
I would be grateful if you could please share this information to anyone who may have an interest in this area. I have also attached a PDF of a poster – I would be grateful if you could share this on any ward alliance noticeboards you may have access to. We are also planning more engagement events in the new year, so if there is anyone who is unable to access the online events or platforms please let me know and we can make sure they are included.
Best wishes,
Katie Rockett
